If you are working on a healthy, long term BDSM relationship, seek out the advice of someone who is IN a healthy, long term BDSM relationship, not someone who hasn’t been able to sustain one.
Stop listening to people who have never been where you are trying to go.
For example, being a professional dominatrix gives you the experience and expertise to be a professional dominatrix; on its own, it does not grant you the ability to be an authority on kinky relationships, basic kink practices, long term power exchange dynamics, ethical non-monogamy, the local scene, etc.
